Ewww

JEGGINGS.
Usually I find that when I see a trend I hate, I end up trying it out and liking it. However this is one trend I can say I definetly won't be embracing. I mean how can they even look flattering?! In my opinion they look 'ok' on super skinny legs but otherwise they look so unflattering! its like seeing those people that wear that cheap stretchy denim thats way too tight for them. Ew ew.

Skin Haul

Yay, so my friend has come back from Hong Kong and got me the SKII whitening source masks but I still haven't got round to using them yet as I'm always working and I prefer putting one on before I go to bed so my skin has the maximum amount of time to absorb the mask.

I also ordered some more stuff online the other day, one of them being the Laneige water sleeping pack. I can leave this lightweight mask on while I sleep for it to work overnight... shame I have a tendency to roll around all over the place...

I also bought the white C toner by Kanebo, I can't remember how long I haven't used a toner (and how I managed to survive!) as i was hoping to find the perfect one and this one is really good so far, it has some moisturising properties but my god have I felt the effects, my skin doesn't feel tight all day! I also bought Oslee's dark circle eye mask, another one to put on when I go to bed - and its buy one get one free!

Oh and I almost forgot about this. I intended to get the SKII aqua physics serum too, I knew it was going to be small but I didn't realise it was going to be THIS small and with about an eighth of the container with product in (practically nothing). Then also found the word 'sample' on the back of it - it never stated i was buying a SAMPLE! So very peeved... very peeved indeed...

YT LOVE 01

CUTE! CUTE! CUTE!

My biggest icon has to be Barbie, and this video sums it up perfectly!! I favourite all the minidresses and one pieces, funky funky funky

I must say, even though most of those models look quite ill, I'd love to adopt a pair of twig pins like theirs - the ultimate leg oil is in search as of pay day!!

Eyelash Growth: Review: Talika - Lipocils

I've been applying this product once in the morning and once in the evening, the product is also suppose to help condition your lashes as well as helping them grow. So I been using this product for 3 weeks now, although it says it will take up to 28 days to work, I found that my eyelashes have grown considerably already (although not as fast as I'd hoped, but I think I'm just being impatient). Considering what you pay for (retailing at £20 from hqhair.com) its actually a really good product! This product comes in a mascara form and has a brush like it, the only thing I don't like about that is that you have to try and get the products onto the root as much as possible to promote the growth and the hairs on the wand makes my eye feel quite uncomfortable when I try to apply it. I also want to try other eyelash growing products such as Lilash (when I'm not so skint) as I've heard some really good reviews from this also... but retailing at about £70 from ebay I think I will have to save up a while!

Review: Chanel: Exceptionnel Mascara

I was given a sample of this after buying something over the counter in HOF. Usually, I don't wear mascara with my makeup as my lashes are really short and thin, putting on any kind of volumising and lengthening mascara does not make a difference and I always find smudge marks near my lower lashline after a couple of hours - not a good look! But since using this, I found that just one application has made my lashes look really thick, length-wise not much has gone on but the best thing is that I have finally found a mascara that doesn't leave ANY smudge marks! The brush is made up of a line of 'teeth' and alternately a line of hair, the teeth makes sure that the lashes aren't clumped together, which works really well as it is a very volumising mascara, shame the brush is big though, but apart from that, amazing product.

Brightening/Whitening Skincare

I am such a big fan of whitening/brightening facial products. I love the natural glow that comes from your skin without having to apply tons of illuminating bronzer or highlighter, it just makes you look so healthy. Wierd to say but I quite like having light skin, I alway use the highest SPF whenever possible and I have this theory that because I'm oriental, we don't get the same olive/bronzey tan as western people tend to get, instead, I find I go a bit yellow.
So I can't wait to finish my current skincare products and go on to try some of the following whitening ranges:
Dior: Snow

Dermalogica: ChromaWhite TRX

SKII: Whitening Source

Shu Uemera: White Recovery Ex

Euoko: W

Jenni Kayne S/S 09'

Loving Jenni Kaynes spring summer collection, nice and casual yet so stylish. Fantastic colour palette of royal blue, nudes, brown and gold.
Another thing that i'm loving is the top knots!! Super cute, although I've seen this trend in Hong Kong a couple of years ago, its nice to see it on the catwalk as well. I can't wait to try out this hairstyle once my hair extensions are here as my natural hair is too fine =(

Pout Haul

So I thought I'd do some swatches of the eyeshadows since I didnt have time to do any in my video (sorry the quality of the swatch picture are a tad bad). The colours are very pigmented, the lighter colours of each set are irridescent. I also bought a loose transulencent powder and a lip balm as well. The loose powder I used once and it seemed ok, it stayed on for most of the day, but nothing special really. The lip balm smelt gorgeous, although I was hoping it would be a bit firmer, it felt a little too sticky for my liking to be honest, but if your a sucker for cute packaging like me..!

Since Pout has now closed their UK stores, there are still a number of places where you can purchase whats left of the stock, I bought mine from thecosmetichouse.com and blushcosmetics.com, theres only limited stock so buy while you can!

My Skincare Routine

My Skin Type: Normal/Dry

When I buy skincare products for my skin I usually choose the ones that are suitable for dry/very dry skin as I find my skin more prone to drying when I apply makeup and I prefer to keep my skin moisturised and nourised as often as I can even when it doesn't nexessarily need it. Below are some of the products I am currently using:

Cleanser: Gatineau: Refreshing Cleansing Cream

Dry skin types are more suitable for milk or cream based products as its more nourishing and less drying than foam cleansers. This product claims to slow down keratinisation, which is when the cells in the epidermis layer of the skin start to die and will eventually shed from the surface of the skin. What also attracted me to this product is that it contains almond oil which leaves my skin really soft and no tight feeling afterwards at all.

After washing off the product, I touched my skin and it felt so clean it squeaked -literally! And besides that it smells quite nice too, one of the best cleanser I've used, even though it is aimed for mature skin, which can only mean that its more gentle than normal cleansers... and more anti-aging benefits!

Exfoliator: Suisse Program: Cellular Exfoliating Cream

This is one of my favourite products. This is a swiss brand, I don't think you can buy this brand in the UK, I bought mine in Hong Kong but you can also purchase it from sasa.com. I bought this exfoliating cream from a part of their whitening range, its quite pricey but definetly worth the money. When you look at the actual product you won't be able to see any exfoliating beads in it at all until you use it because the beads are so tiny yet so dense, you can really feel it working into the skin. I find this product less harsh compared to other products such as st.Ives as the grainyness of that made my skin go bright red afterwards, but this product is much gentler and smells absolutely divine!

Toner: Shiseido: UV white softener II

From their UV White range, the softener I is for oily skin and softener II is for dry skin. I've Only recently purchased this product so will need some time before I can give a proper review, in the mean time stay tuned for updates on this product!

Serum: Shiseido: UV White Effector

Same as the toner, I only recently purchased this with it, so will give a proper review later!

Moisturiser: Embryolisse: Lait Creme Concentre

Cult beauty brand, this product is simple yet amazing. A fairly rich cream, I would usually prefer richer mositurisers but this one didn't dissapoint. Lovely texture, absorbs quickly, doesn't feel sticky and acts as a really good makeup base too. Contains nourishing ingredients such as shea butter, beeswax and mineral oil to leave the skin soft and supple, the product also help to repair the skins lipid barrier, leaving it hydrated all day long.

Eye Cream: Good Skin Labs: Eyliplex-2

Love the packaging of this, its a massive contact lenses case! After finishing my last eye cream, I decided to look for something that has a balance of both reducing dark circles and getting rid of fine lines as I've recently developed some shocking ones under my eyes. And then I found this. One side is a green gel that is for day use, that is suppose to tighten the eye area for a more youthful appearance (you can tell i'm using a mature product again) and the cream side is for night use, where it works to reduce dark circles and fine lines whilst you sleep. Now, I decided to swap it around and use the cream for day and gel for night as I find that the cream works better under my makeup and feels less dry than the gel. I've only used this for a week so I will give another update on this product in a few weeks time.
